Quitting Smoking or Vaping

Quitting can be hard, but every year thousands of people go tobacco free. Did you know that  most people don’t quit on their first try? With every quit attempt, you learn more about yourself and what works for you, making it easier to quit next time. Don’t quit quitting!

The best way to quit smoking or vaping is with help. Seeking help increases your chances of quitting and remaining nicotine free.  There are plenty of resources and supports (PDF, 272 KB) available to assist you. Pick a date, make a quit plan, and give it a try! You can also call Public Health at 705.522.9200, ext. 3433 (toll-free 1.866.522.9200) and speak to a nurse who will provide brief counseling over the telephone.
