By-law Charity Task Force for Smoke-Free Sudbury (Motion #57-03)

Moved by Gingras – Edwards. Approved by the Sudbury & District Board of Health, June 19, 2003.

WHEREAS the Sudbury & District Board of Health believe that the Smoke-free Public Places and Workplaces By-Law 2002-300 is important for the protection of the health of the Citizens in the City of Greater Sudbury from second-hand smoke; and

WHEREAS the City of Greater Sudbury Council supported the creation of a multi-sector Task Force to determine the feasibility of creative strategies to address the concerns raised by local charities and non-profit organizations that raise money from charity bingos; and

WHEREAS the Sudbury & District Board of Health continues to support the implementation efforts of the Smoke-free Public Places and Workplaces By-law 2002-300;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT this Board of Health names one Board of Health member or designate to the By-Law Charity Task Force for smoke-free Sudbury.
