I am fully vaccinated; will I need to isolate following an exposure?

Every situation is unique and Public Health continues to follow Ministry of Health guidance. If you have been identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19, you will be provided with self-isolation and testing direction based on an assessment and the outcomes of Public Health’s investigation.

In many cases, the direction for self-isolation and testing will be based on the immunization status of the individual.

If the case meets certain criteria, fully vaccinated people who have no symptoms will not need to isolate, even if they are linked to a confirmed case. Individuals who are not fully immunized will need to isolate for 10 days if there is an exposure and upon recommendation by Public Health. Regardless of vaccination status, anyone who develops a COVID- 19 symptom must self-isolate and seek testing.
