What does it mean for other family members if my child has to stay home on isolation because their classroom was dismissed, or the school has an outbreak of COVID-19?

In these circumstances, your child may have been exposed to COVID-19 and is expected to remain at home and follow self-isolation directions ( https://www.publichealthontario.ca/-/media/documents/ncov/factsheet-covid-19-how-to-self-isolate.pdf?la=en (Public Health Ontario) usually for 14 days. Other family members must respect and support the child’s self-isolation, but they themselves are not under isolation and can continue with their usual activities, such as going to work or school. Call Public Health for specific direction if a child on self-isolation develops symptoms that could be COVID-19 related.
