Employers COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open (February 16, 2021)

As you are aware the Government of Ontario has announced that February 16, 2021, the area within Public Health Sudbury & Districts boundaries will be returning to the Orange Zone as outlined in the COVID-19 response framework: keeping Ontario safe and open https://www.ontario.ca/page/covid-19-response-framework-keeping-ontario-safe-and-open. For more specific information regarding restrictions within the Orange Zone, please see Ontario Regulation 364/20: RULES FOR AREAS IN STAGE 3 under Reopening Ontario (A Flexible Response to COVID-19) Act, 2020, S.O. 2020, c. 17 https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/200364

In addition, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health has developed COVID-19 signage questions https://www.health.gov.on.ca/en/pro/programs/publichealth/coronavirus/docs/COVID_19_bus_orgs_question_signage.pdf to support the new requirement for signage to be posted at all entrances for passive screening before entering a business or organization.

Some businesses or organizations in specific zones, as defined in the COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open, must screen patrons before they are allowed to enter. These include businesses in the following zones:

The Provincial Government’s COVID-19 customer and patron screening tool has been updated to align with the return to the Response Framework and requirement for active screening in specific settings and zones.
