Bridges out of Poverty®
Bridges out of Poverty® is a training initiative with the broad goal of increasing awareness about poverty and inspiring compassion and a commitment to poverty reduction. Bridges out of Poverty® is built on the idea that everyone in a community has a role to play in poverty reduction. Participants are invited to look at poverty differently through these interactive workshops. Workshops are available to anyone interested in learning more about the social and economic impacts that poverty has on individuals in our community.
Bridges out of Poverty® workshops help participants understand:
- the causes and impacts of poverty on families
- the hidden rules of economic groups
- the importance of building relationships
Workshops are offered in:
- 3-hour introductory sessions.
- 6-hour in-depth sessions.
A $20 fee is required for the 6-hour workshop which covers the cost of the training manual. Participation in a 6-hour Bridges out of Poverty® workshop is also a requirement of becoming a Circles Ally. Allies are community volunteers who work with an individual or family who is working to achieve goals of financial self-sufficiency through the Circles® program.
