Position summary:

Reporting to Manager IT, the Medical Informatics Specialist is responsible for the implementation, support, and enhancement of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and related health information technologies across the organization that promote high quality, cost effective public health and client service and user satisfaction. Working closely with the Managers, Special Projects (EMR), IT, and Population Health Assessment and Surveillance and vendor implementation team, clinical teams, and stakeholders, this role supports the development of effective systems which outline processes and best practices to support people and the Agency.  It identifies the current and future state, including gaps in current systems and outcomes. It ensures that medical informatics systems are secure, functional, and tailored to operational and clinical and public health needs. The Specialist takes accountability to execute solutions and develop quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.

This position supports users by developing reports and dashboards, configuring digital forms and assessments, and maintaining high system usability. The Specialist also contributes to infrastructure deployment, technical and data quality assurance, and cybersecurity risk mitigation in a public health environment
