COVID-19 point of care rapid antigen screening

The government of Ontario has announced (PDF, 122 KB) that effective immediately, there is no longer a requirement for individuals conducting COVID-19 point of care rapid antigen screening to report preliminary positive results to the local Public Health Unit. The requirement to report confirmed positives from other point of care (molecular) tests remains in place. Public Health Sudbury & Districts recognizes the updated provincial direction however strongly encourages local businesses and organizations to continue to report preliminary positive results to Public Health so that we may ensure appropriate follow-up. All positive results can be reported to our confidential fax number 705.677.9618. Businesses and organizations conducting point of care rapid antigen screening and who do not have capacity to report preliminary positive results to Public Health, should continue to counsel individuals who test positive to self-isolate and seek confirmatory PCR testing.
