FOR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION

The Ministry of Health has updated the COVID-19 Screening Tool for Children in School and Child Care. This tool, which is to be completed daily, has been updated to adjust the type and number of symptoms needed for a child to stay home for a period of time and seek medical advice. Additionally, this tool now includes two set of questions with a revised symptoms list updated as of October 1, 2020. This will help parents determine whether their children should attend school or child care, need to be assessed by a health care provider or get tested for COVID-19.

Please note, the changes to this tool does not apply to staff, parents, or the general public.

A variety of resources are available on the Ministry of Health COVID-19 Health Sector Guidance website page that can assist you as you provide care during this unprecedented time. Please check often for updates at: https://www.phsd.ca/health-topics-programs/diseases-infections/coronavirus/guidance-for-employers-covid-19/sector-specific-guidance/.
